4.5 ✨ an absolutely wonderful book. Tender, warm, beautifully written, Towles creates the most magical little world.

DNF. This book moved at a glacial pace. If you’re in the right mood, I’m sure it’s beautiful. But for me, PAGES of description, whimsical backstory, and Russian history (that I unfortunately know little of) to give a single sentence of plot was too much.

Hard to get into, but the story is very atmospheric, you can just about picture yourself in the book. Decided to watch the series instead.
