This books gives Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement vibes along with The Prince and Me, what if Eddie did abdicate the throne, vibes.

It’s like… I’m glad to finally know what the fuss is all about but I also still don’t understand what all the fuss is about.

Safe to say: Ana Huang’s writing is just not for me.

“i might not know what love was, but i knew i was in love with bridget von ascheberg, to the point where even i — the man who was so good at denying himself anything good in life — couldn’t deny it.”

this was so much better than book one and i am so happy about it! the writing style — while still ammendable — has improved a lot in my opinion. what i loved most were the characters: my love for bridget has just gotten bigger page by page, and i really liked how rhys's flaws were incorporated into his character. both of them had such great developments, too, and it was incredible to read what they brought out in one another.

the forbidden romance with its angsty elements was written well and i really enjoyed the steaminess between the two! it also made me realize that, after this being my first bodyguard romance, i definitely want to read more of those.
