I could only read 10-20 pages at a time cuz this book was frustrating and intense. However I really enjoyed the story and have found myself trying to explain it to friends and family.

This was really fun to read! Less gothic/creepy than I thought it would be, though I absolutely loved the decrepit mansion slowly falling off the cliff throughout the book. There were soooo many twists, though I guessed a couple of the big ones easily. But there were some that totally blindsided me. The ending wrapped up everything nicely albeit unbelievably.

I have a hard time believing that Patrick was the same age as Virginia. Did I miss something early in the book?
I also have a really hard time believing that Virginia hid her ability to move and talk for DECADES, especially with Kit testing her reflexes.

a book that relies on a big reveal about a disabled person faking it just isn’t cool!
