The premise of this book was so interesting and had a lot of promise. It was quite fun to observe Lauren’s responses to the revolving door of husbands her attic provided and the subsequent alterations to her lived environment. With that being said, the book started strong, found an interesting twist at the halfway point, and then tapered off slowly until the very abrupt ending. Overall the plot was entertaining with funny and unique characters, but the middle of the book dragged on and the ending felt slightly unsatisfying.

The Husbands is a delightful, light, fast little bit of speculative fiction touching on the multiverse, but mostly about the nature of relationships and self discovery. Definitely recommend as a pallet cleanser following a highly emotional/charged read.
